The Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH) is, nationwide as well as internationally, one of the most important research centres for production engineering. Approximately 240 scientists, mostly with engineering and natural sciences backgrounds, research at the six Leibniz University institutes which comprise the PZH. Under the umbrella of the PZH, the scholars not only bring together their versatile disciplines for a successful interdisciplinary cooperation, they also make use of the engineering services provided by the TEWISS GmbH and by the many smaller production-related companies, some of which are spin-offs of the institutes themselves.

Research - Teaching - Industrial Cooperation

Apart from pure research, in addition to numerous research collaborations with industry partners, another major focal point of the PZH is providing its numerous students with high quality, praxis-oriented education. Approximately 800 mechanical engineering undergraduates participate in various hands-on courses at the PZH; appointed as student research assistants, about 450 of them are already actively involved in diverse research projects. In particular, the degree programme "Production and Logistics" is anchored in the PZH.
